Listen to the Voice Of Space — selected for MMXXVI
Listen 2.0 has been selected under Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships in School Education, and the grant agreement is at signature. The project uses space and astronomy as the way into STEM for pupils aged 9 to 16, and treats girls' participation as a design constraint rather than a reporting line. Nine space-themed lesson plans, a teacher resource pack, a multilingual gamified learning platform, an international teacher training in Lithuania carried back into partner classrooms, and a fully online space-STEM hackathon — built on real ESA and NASA data, and made reusable by any school in Europe. Coordinated from Poland by Mobile Adventure, with nine organisations across seven countries — Poland, Norway, Bulgaria, Lithuania, the Netherlands, North Macedonia and Turkey. Collective Innovation participates as partner. Twenty-four months from September 2026.

New ground in sports medicine
A new collaboration opens a research area we have not worked in before: sports medicine, and specifically the health of young athletes. Five live research programmes come with it — paediatric spinal screening, a longitudinal cohort following roughly a thousand children from the ages of 8 to 18, school-based measurement and tiered screening delivered through physical education teachers, the question of why trained young people can still be sedentary, and the health of esports competitors. Each is already collecting data and already has people attached, which is the sort of partner we look for. Over the coming year we will work with them on where these programmes fit within European research funding, with the 2027 windows in view.

Energy Signals — a third edition, for energy and climate
After Space Insights in the space sector and Voice Sport in sport, we are opening a third sector edition: Energy Signals, independent intelligence for European energy and climate. The reasoning is the one that produced the first two. Public investment in the sector is moving faster than the reading of it, decisions are being made on scattered evidence, and there is room for something written for the people who have to act rather than for the people who already agree.

Space Insights — the eighty-sixth dispatch
In April this archive recorded the sixteenth dispatch from Space Insights. The count now stands at eighty-six. Between the middle of March and the second of August the writing was seen 117,858 times; 1,145 people follow the edition; 925 read the site this year, most often from the United States, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Singapore and the United Kingdom. The Open Calls page is live against the funding database.

Sport federations in the AI era: aware, ready, or neither?
The second environmental scan of the year is filed. It begins with a federation breached through a platform it trusted rather than its own systems, and ends somewhere less comfortable: there is no shared way to compare federation AI readiness across Europe. Not a missing report — a missing instrument. No institution measures readiness at federation tier with a methodology that holds across jurisdictions, which means no federation can honestly say where it stands relative to its peers. The scan sketches six dimensions and a readiness ladder as a starting point, and is published in full under the Sport Singularity name.

The sport-sector edition has a public name at last. It is Voice Sport, and it reads: sport moves fast, Voice Sport makes it readable. Independent intelligence for the business of sport. It is built to the same editorial standard as Space Insights, with the same sourcing discipline and the same published style guide, and the site is live.

VISTA — virtual reality taekwondo, coordinated from Oslo
VISTA joins the bill of works: a virtual-reality approach to taekwondo training, coordinated by Oslo Orcas with Sport Singularity as partner, filed under Erasmus+ Sport in the March round. It replaces the placeholder entry that had been sitting in the Project Lab since the round closed. Awaiting evaluation, with the rest.

Green Tennis Comic Book — published
Smart irrigation, the Rebel Ball, the Ball Eater, and a Wi-Fi hamster powering an entire tournament. The comic translates Green Tennis sustainability practice — refill stations, ball recycling, travel choices, waste sorting, energy savings — into a story that clubs, federations, event organisers and young players across Europe can put to use this season. Partners: Sport Singularity, Tennis Europe, Magyar Tenisz Szövetség, We Play Green, AIforlives, UCAM. Funded by the European Union.
