Project №01 · Strategic Foresight 4 Sport

SF4Sport

A foresight programme for European sport federations. Signal scanning, scenario building, and briefs that federations can act on.

Editorial note

§ 1SF4Sport exists because the sport sector reads its own signals badly. Federations are excellent at watching their own competitions, their own athletes, and their own calendars; they are less excellent at watching the economic, policy, and technological shifts that will rearrange those things in five years.

§ 2The project equips a cohort of federations with a shared foresight method — scanning, scenario-building, and briefing — and a small knowledge base of cross-sector signals curated weekly. It is the origin point of the Foresight Leadership Programme, which carries the method into a commercial programme under Sport Singularity.

§ 3Mid-project review, held in Oslo in April 2026, surfaced a finding we did not expect: federations wanted shorter briefs and more frequent cadence, not longer reports. The second year of the project has been re-scoped accordingly.
